Dr. Mike Higgins, board certified and state licensed dental
anesthesiologist, has been working with Dr. Mike for over 25 years,
right in our office. No hospital or surgery center visits are
necessary. Your child can have their work done safely in a friendly
environment that you and your child are familiar with.
Light levels of general
anesthesia allow your child to sleep comfortably through their
dental treatment while recovering quickly, returning home after a
brief recovery period. And, because your child will be asleep, local
anesthesia is not necessary, thereby avoiding that “numb” feeling
afterwards. As you can see, this type of general anesthesia is
ideally suited for outpatient dental office care for our
patients.
Because your child is
comfortably asleep, a comprehensive clinical dental examination and
higher quality X-rays (radiographs) of their teeth can be easily
obtained. This allows Dr. Mike to see any hidden cavities or other
abnormalities that might be difficult to find during a routine exam.
